Resistance Cinema Fest — 2nd Edition

Activate Rights, Omega Research Foundation, and Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS) are convening the second edition of Resistance Cinema Fest on the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture. In collaboration with the International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT), SAPRAN, Surge Bangladesh, Chitra Collective, and supported by the #UnitedAgainstTorture consortium (funded by the European Union), this day-long creative intervention will bring together victims, survivors, young human rights defenders, filmmakers, and civil society actors around the themes of torture prevention, transitional justice, and solidarity. The festival features thematic film screenings followed by moderated discussions, artivism, a workshop on video-for-change and trauma-informed documentary-making, and space for films by young human rights defenders and survivors documenting their own realities. Open to individuals and organizations working on human rights, digital rights, transitional justice, and film.
